TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka met with the sixth President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), in Cikeas, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Tuesday morning, September 9, 2025. The meeting's agenda was disclosed by SBY's eldest son, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).
AHY, who is also the Chair of the Democratic Party, stated that the discussion focused on key national issues aimed at improving Indonesia’s economic conditions. The two also discussed overseeing the development initiated by the government under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto.
"Then, to oversee the development carried out by the government under the command of President Prabowo Subianto," AHY said.
He added that the meeting was also a personal visit for Gibran to wish SBY a happy 76th birthday in person. "Gibran conveyed it directly," he said.
The meeting was captured in a video shared on the official Instagram account of the Vice President's Secretariat, @setwapres. The video shows Gibran and his wife, Selvi Ananda, visiting SBY's residence, where they were warmly welcomed by the former president.
In his own statement, Gibran confirmed he had extended his birthday wishes and engaged in a casual conversation with SBY, during which he also received valuable advice. Gibran also said he had prayed for SBY's continued good health and long life.
