TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - TikTok's live streaming feature has been reactivated and is now available in Indonesia. Live TikTok was temporarily disabled for about four days since Saturday night, August 29, 2025, coinciding with protests condemning the House of Representatives (DPR) and the escalating police violence.

According to Tempo, the 'Live' icon in the app can now be selected. Several users are seen conducting live streams, and the 'unstable internet' notification, which appeared when the feature was restricted, is no longer present.

In an official statement, a TikTok spokesperson announced that the live streaming feature has been reactivated in Indonesia, allowing users to enjoy the full TikTok experience. On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the spokesperson said that, along with this step, additional security measures will continue to be implemented for some time to come.

The company also emphasized that it will continue to monitor the situation and prioritize efforts to provide a safe and civilized platform for users to express themselves.

Before this development, TikTok mentioned that the restriction on the live feature was voluntary to maintain a safe and civilized space on their platform. Additionally, TikTok has been removing content that violates community guidelines on the platform and monitoring the ongoing protests in the country.
