TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The updated battle royale game, PUBG Mobile, will feature horror-themed content, an anime collaboration, and a new game mode. The new update, named Version 4.0, has been available from September 5 to November 4, 2025.
Quoting Antara on the first day of the release, PUBG Mobile Version 4.0 introduces a new mode called Spooky Soiree on the Erangel, Livik, and Rondo maps. This new mode features a group of ghosts named Ghostie, each with unique abilities.
Players can also explore the haunted Wraithmoor Mansion in Erangel and Livik, and encounter mystical figures that influence the course of the game. The horror atmosphere is further enhanced by a ghost rock concert performed by the Performing Dead and unique vehicles like the Magic Broom.
In addition to its horror theme, PUBG Mobile has collaborated with the Japanese anime series Kaiju No. 8. Until the end of September 2025, players can obtain iconic characters like Kafka Hibino, Reno Ichikawa, Mina Ashiro, Kikoru Shinomiya, and Soshiro Hoshina with unique animations.
Players can also experience the transformation of becoming a Kaiju No. 8. There are various sets, weapons, and vehicles themed around Kaiju No. 8. This latest version of PUBG also refreshes the Classic mode. Players will be presented with the Mortar weapon, the Realistic Reloading system, and improvements in weapon recoil or kickback transitions. Iconic locations in Erangel are now equipped with attractions such as the Ferris Wheel and interactive swings.
The improved graphics system in this latest PUBG Mobile enhances the first-person shooter (FPS) experience. The same factor also reduces lag, overheating, and power consumption on certain devices.
Not stopping there, PUBG Mobile adds seasonal content such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and Day of Gathering. There is also an introduction of a new asymmetric mode, UNFAIL, pitting one Predator against four Survivors.
