TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The NasDem Faction of the House of Representatives (DPR) of Indonesia has requested the suspension of salary, allowances, and all attached facilities for two DPR members who have been suspended, namely Ahmad Sahroni and Nafa Urbach.
This was conveyed by the NasDem faction to follow up on the letter from the Nasdem Central Executive Board Number 168-SE/DPP-Nasdem/VII, which suspended both members from September 1, 2025. 'The NasDem Faction of the DPR requests a temporary suspension of salary, allowances, and all facilities for the individuals,' said Chairman of the NasDem Faction of the DPR, Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat, in a press release on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Victor claimed that the temporary suspension policy is part of enforcing party mechanisms and integrity. Currently, Victor revealed that the process of suspending Ahmad Sahroni and Nafa Urbach is being followed up by the NasDem party court.
The decision from the party court, according to Victor, is final, binding, and cannot be appealed. "All steps taken by the NasDem Party Faction are part of the effort to ensure that the internal party mechanism is run transparently and accountably," he said.
In addition, the NasDem Faction invites all parties to maintain the integrity and unity of the nation. In the current political situation, he encourages everyone to prioritize dialogue, deliberation, and constructive resolution of differences. "Thus, public trust in the legislative institution remains preserved," said Viktor.
He urges the public to knit unity and strengthen the spirit of restoration. "For a better future for Indonesia," he said.
NasDem previously announced the suspension of Ahmad Sahroni and Nafa Urbach on August 31. Both DPR members from the NasDem Faction came under scrutiny after making controversial statements that sparked public outrage.
When Sahroni responded to the discourse of dissolving the legislative body, he considered criticism calling for the dissolution of the DPR as something excessive. He even labeled those who voiced that discourse as "stupid people."
While Nafa Urbach was scrutinized after responding to the housing allowance for DPR members amounting to Rp50 million per month. She stated that she had to get stuck in traffic from her home in Bintaro to Senayan, so that allowance was reasonable.
