TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The light rail transit, or LRT Jabodebek, continues to operate and serve passengers despite some government and private institutions in Jakarta implementing work from home (WFH). The WFH policy was implemented since last Monday, following a wave of demonstrations at several locations in Jakarta throughout the last week of August 2025.

The Public Relations Manager at LRT Jabodebek, Mahendro Trang Bawono, said on Monday, September 1, 2025, that the number of LRT Jabodebek users reached 43,554 people. By 4:30 p.m. today, the number of passengers reached 36,181 and is expected to continue to rise until the end of the operation.

"This number proves that LRT Jabodebek remains important for people's mobility," Mahendro said in a written statement on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

LRT Jabodebek serves 396 trips on every working day (Monday-Friday). Meanwhile, on weekends and national holidays, 270 trips are operated. This operational pattern is consistently maintained to ensure the public has smooth and orderly transportation access.

Mahendro added that besides emphasizing punctuality, LRT Jabodebek pays attention to safety and security aspects. The public is urged to comply with the officer's instructions, maintain public facilities, and prioritize safety during the journey.

"Public transportation facilities are owned by everyone. Maintenance and care from all parties are crucial to ensure that the service remains comfortable, safe, and sustainable," Mahendro said.
