TEMPO.CO, JakartaIsrael once again heavily pounded Gaza on Monday. Their tanks have moved deeper into the city, while an explosively rigged old armored vehicle was detonated in the densely populated area of Sheikh Radwan. On the same day, an airstrike killed at least 19 people, according to Palestinian officials and eyewitnesses, as reported by Al Arabiya.

The massive explosion destroyed homes, causing families to flee their residences.

"It was a night of horror, explosions never stopped, and the drones never stopped hovering over the area. Many people quit their homes fearing for their lives, while others have no idea where to go," said Mohammad Abu Abdallah, a 55-year-old resident of Sheikh Radwan.

Israel's Plan to Seize Gaza Strip

The Israeli military has announced that they are still fighting against Hamas throughout Gaza. Over the past 24 hours, they have claimed to have attacked several positions and buildings that were used to launch attacks against their forces. According to Arab News, Israel dropped leaflets from the air, instructing Gaza residents to head south immediately.

The military operation, the army said, will be extended to the western part of the city. This step is part of a larger plan to take full control of the entire Gaza Strip by destroying Hamas, following nearly two years of intermittent warfare.

Accusations of Israeli Genocide

Amid the ongoing assault, the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) announced a resolution stating that Israel's actions in Gaza meet the legal criteria for genocide. Israel has not responded, but has always rejected such accusations.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security cabinet meeting on Sunday night to discuss the operation to seize Gaza, which he referred to as a Hamas stronghold. Local health authorities reported that 14 people, including women and children, were killed in airstrikes on homes in Gaza, coinciding with the entry of tanks into Sheikh Radwan.

The Israeli military also warned that the Gaza assault could endanger hostages still held by Hamas. Meanwhile, protests in Israel have intensified in recent weeks. Residents are demanding an immediate end to the war and the release of the hostages.
