TEMPO.CO, JakartaIreland offers a "Long-Term Residency" program for non-EU and non-EEA citizens. This program provides foreign nationals with the opportunity to obtain permanent residency after residing in the United States for five consecutive years. It allows them to live, work, and study in Ireland.

Ireland is renowned for its robust job market, stunning landscapes, high quality of life, and easy access to healthcare and educational services. Through the Irish Permanent Residency or Long-Term Residency program, the skilled workforce contributes to Ireland's economic growth. Additionally, it provides the opportunity to explore dramatic castles and captivating beach resorts.

Requirements and Costs

The registration fee for this program is 500 euros (approximately Rp9.6 million). However, there are several requirements to become a permanent resident. These include having completed 60 months of official residence in Ireland, supported by qualifying stamps in their passport or a valid Irish Residence Permit (IRP).

The applicants must have a work permit or a critical skills permit issued by the Irish Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment. The program does not apply to self-employed applicants, as reported by Travel and Leisure Asia.

Applicants must also demonstrate good character and have a clean criminal record, verified by An Garda Siochana (Irish Police). They must not be an undue burden on the State and must comply with their previous immigration permission requirements. Your employment status must be the same at the time of application as it is during and after the process.

Application Process

Eligible applicants need to apply through the official Immigration Service website. The application fee must be paid within 28 days of approval. Once processed, typically within six to eight months, successful applicants will receive a Stamp 4 Visa, confirming their Long-Term Residence permission.

With a Stamp 4 visa, residents have the legal right to live and work in Ireland without needing additional work permits. This provides stability for those who have built careers, families, and social networks in the country.

Benefits of the Long-Term Residency Program

This new residency permit program offers several benefits. In addition to official residence permission, they also gain access to Irish social services, including healthcare and education, while retaining the freedom to work in various sectors matching their skills. This five-year path is relatively short compared to other EU countries.

Ireland's permanent residency scheme also encourages integration into Irish society. Foreign residents can build strong ties with the local community by maintaining employment and complying with legal requirements. These ties can support citizenship applications if desired, as reported by the Economic Times.
