TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The weather in Jakarta today, coinciding with the birthday commemoration of Prophet Muhammad, is expected to be different from the scorching heat of the past few days. The weather forecast of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) states possible rain today, Friday, September 5, 2025.

Not only drizzles, some parts of Jakarta are expecting thunderstorms today. These areas include South Jakarta and East Jakarta.

The temperature is also lower than the past few days, which reached 34 degrees Celsius. Today, the maximum temperature is predicted to be 33 degrees, and this is only in East Jakarta.

According to BMKG, the chance for rainfall also extends to the surrounding areas of Jakarta. Moderate-intensity rain is expected in the Bogor Regency and Depok City, while Bogor City may experience thunderstorms.

The Bekasi Regency and City are also expecting drizzles, similar to the Tangerang Regency and City. Meanwhile, South Tangerang City may experience moderate rain today.

Outside Jakarta, the air temperature today will reach 34 degrees Celsius, specifically in Bekasi City.

The potential for widespread rain throughout Greater Jakarta occurs amidst stronger Australian Monsoon winds. This impacts the southern part of Indonesia, including Greater Jakarta, which willexperience scorching heat and strong winds due to the lack of cloud formation.

Both BMKG and BRIN predict that the scorching heat, dryness, and strong winds will dominate during the first ten days of September. Even if rain occurs, it will likely be localized.
