TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commander of the Cyber Unit (Dansat) at the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Headquarters, Juinta Omboh Sembiring, suspects that influencer Ferry Irwandi has committed criminal acts. Juinta consulted with the Jakarta Metropolitan Police about the legal steps the TNI will take in response to these allegations.

Suspicion against Ferry was found after the TNI Cyber Unit conducted a sweep of cyberspace. "From cyber patrols, we found several facts of alleged criminal acts committed by Ferry Irwandi," said Juinta to journalists at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters, South Jakarta, on Monday, September 8, 2025.

From the consultation with the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, the TNI is currently preparing legal steps to be taken against Ferry. "As law-abiding citizens, we prioritize the law. Therefore, we will take legal action regarding these allegations," he said.

However, the Army TNI officer refused to disclose the criminal acts for which Ferry was suspected. He only said that there would be an investigation into this case. "Later, there will be an investigation. Let's continue later," he said.

Juinta said that Ferry had previously talked about algorithms. "I tried to consult (with the Jakarta Metropolitan Police) because he talked about algorithms and other things. As a Cyber Commander, I also have things like that," he said.

According to Juinta, he had tried to contact Ferry, but his phone was unreachable. He claimed to have asked his staff to contact Ferry.

Ferry himself said that he was not aware of the TNI's consultation with the police to criminalize him.

"I don't know anything," he said over the phone when contacted by journalists.

Lately, Ferry is known as one of the influencers involved in formulating the 17+8 People's Demands, along with other names such as Fathia Izzati and Andovi da Lopez. In 2023, he launched the Malaka Project educational platform.

Ferry is also active in creating content on YouTube, with 1.92 million followers on his channel. Lately, he has been uploading videos reviewing large-scale demonstrations in various regions.

Eight days ago, Ferry Irwandi uploaded a video titled Dalang Demo dan Mencegah Darurat Militer (The Puppeteer of Demonstrations and Preventing Martial Law). Two days before that, he uploaded another video titled Penjelasan Lengkap Rangkaian Aksi Demo dan Solusi (Complete Explanation of the Series of Demo Actions and Solutions).
