TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A Russian-developed mRNA cancer vaccine, Enteromix, has reportedly demonstrated 100% effectiveness and safety in clinical trials, marking a potential breakthrough in the fight against aggressive cancers. Experts say it offers new hope for both treatment and prevention.

The Russian Enteromix cancer vaccine is now ready for clinical use, the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) has announced,” reported The Times of India on September 9, 2025.

FMBA Chief Veronica Skvortsova highlighted that the vaccine successfully passed preclinical trials, proving to be both safe and effective. Enteromix has shown the ability to shrink tumors, slow cancer growth, and can be safely administered repeatedly.

"The vaccine showed significant results in shrinking tumors and slowing their growth, and has also been found safe for repeated use."

Skvortsova added that the vaccine will be personalized based on each patient’s RNA profile. The initial version targets colorectal cancer, while additional formulations are in development for glioblastoma (brain cancer) and melanoma (skin cancer).

The vaccine employs technology similar to the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, training the immune system to recognize and destroy cancer cells.

Unlike traditional chemotherapy or radiation, Enteromix reportedly does not produce severe side effects and is well-tolerated by patients.

Earlier reports indicated that clinical trials began with 48 volunteers, led by the National Medical Research Radiological Center of Russia’s Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Engelhardt Molecular Biology Institute (EIMB) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

The trials were first announced at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025, showcasing Russia’s advancements in medical research and biotechnology.

According to MedPath reports, Enteromix uses four harmless viruses to target and destroy tumors while simultaneously boosting the immune system.

Years of testing have shown the vaccine can slow cancer progression and, in some cases, completely eliminate tumors.

The next step is regulatory approval. If cleared, Enteromix could become the first personalized mRNA cancer vaccine available to the public, potentially transforming cancer treatment globally.
