TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to depart for Malang, East Java, today, Tuesday, January 13, 2026. The visit to Malang is to inaugurate the Taruna Nusantara High School.
On Monday, January 12, 2026, Prabowo landed at the Helipad of the State Palace, the Nusantara Capital Region (IKN), in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan. The moment of Prabowo's arrival was broadcast live on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.
Prabowo and his entourage were seen arriving around 5:47 PM WITA. He was wearing a brown safari suit and a hat. Prabowo was accompanied by the State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The Head of State was welcomed by the IKN Authority Chief Basuki Hadimuljono.
According to Antara, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya confirmed that President Prabowo will stay overnight at IKN.
The visit to IKN is President Prabowo's last agenda in Kalimantan. In the morning, Prabowo inaugurated 166 public schools at the Integrated Public School (SRT) 9 in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. Prabowo then inaugurated the Pertamina refinery in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on Monday afternoon.
After completing the activities at IKN, Prabowo is said to continue his working visit to Malang, East Java. Teddy said on Monday, January 12, 2026, as reported by Antara, "Tomorrow morning (today) to Malang."
Based on information circulating among journalists, Prabowo is scheduled to lead a meeting on Tuesday morning and receive a report from the IKN Authority regarding the development of IKN.
This visit to IKN is the first one made by President Prabowo as the 8th president. Prabowo last visited IKN when he had been designated as the president-elect but still served as the Minister of Defense, on September 13, 2024.
Prabowo and the Indonesian Onward Cabinet attended the Plenary Cabinet Meeting led by Joko Widodo at the Garuda Palace, IKN. That meeting was the last plenary cabinet meeting led by Jokowi.
