TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Director of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Kash Patel, will completely overhaul President Donald Trump's security arrangements at his next White House press conference.

This was done as a security precaution following the shooting incident that occurred during a White House press dinner with American government officials on Saturday, April 25.

"I think we are going to do it entirely differently," Patel told Fox News on Monday, as quoted by Antara.

The FBI is doing things differently. They are working with the White House, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Secret Service, and local police.

Patel said nearly all members of the president’s cabinet attended the banquet, along with the president, vice president, and about 2,000 media personnel. He stressed the event was not scripted and described the situation as a tragedy, adding that a swift law enforcement response helped contain it.

On Saturday night, gunshots were suddenly heard at the Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., during the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner. Everyone at the event, including Donald Trump and his wife, was evacuated immediately.

Meanwhile, a suspect in the shooting was taken into custody immediately, and one Secret Service agent was injured. The suspect has been identified as Cole Allen, who has frequently criticized the U.S. government for its reluctance to provide aid to Ukraine.

Trump said the dinner would be rescheduled within the next 30 days due to the incident.
