TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Several passengers were injured in an accident involving a CommuterLine train and a long-distance diesel train (KRD) at the Bekasi Timur Station in Bekasi City on Monday evening, April 27, 2026, Antara reported.
According to the information obtained, the CommuterLine train was stopped on track 1, heading east toward Cikarang. Moments later, a long-distance train traveling from the west entered the same track and collided with the CommuterLine head-on.
“The CommuterLine was destroyed at the rear. Officers evacuated us immediately," said Heri, a surviving passenger, at the scene.
As of 9:50 PM local time, officers and bystanders were still evacuating passengers. Several of the evacuated passengers were injured and unconscious.
