TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Directorate General of Customs and Excise has denied reports that the Attorney General's Office (AGO) team conducted a raid at their office on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
"The arrival of representatives from the AGO was solely for the purpose of coordination and data collection," said Nirwala Dwi Heryanto, the Director of Communication and User Guidance for the DGCE, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
However, based on information received by Tempo, the Central Customs and Excise office in Rawamangun, East Jakarta, was visited by six officers from the AGO’s Special Crime Prosecutor's Office (Jampidsus), along with two military members.
This source stated that the Jampidsus officers visited the Customs and Excise Information Room to request data on the export of Crude Palm Oil (CPO).
The source revealed that the Attorney General's Office is investigating alleged manipulation behind the export of palm oil mill effluent (POME) between 2021 and 2022. This modus operandi emerged after the AGO probed a corruption case related to CPO exports that caused state losses of up to Rp13 trillion.
According to the source, the export value of POME surged between 2021 and 2022 despite a lack of actual production. There are suspicions of data obfuscation in CPO export documents, where the cargo was falsely labeled as POME.
In addition to the central office visit, the source mentioned that a search was conducted at the residence of one of the Central Customs and Excise officials today.
