TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Stock Exchange Composite Index (IHSG) on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, opened in the red, specifically at the level of 7,748.51. The IHSG moved in the red zone, continuing the correction from yesterday after President Prabowo Subianto replaced several ministers, including dismissing Sri Mulyani Indrawati from the Ministry of Finance, who was then replaced by Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. According to RTI Business data, IHSG moved in the range of 7,631.46 to 7,791.33 this morning. At 09:50 AM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), the IHSG was recorded at the level of 7,654.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto replaced Finance Minister Sri Mulyani in the red and white Cabinet reshuffle on Monday, September 8, 2025. Former Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, was inaugurated as her replacement.
In a press release at the Ministry of Finance yesterday, Purbaya responded to the IHSG decline after the reshuffle. "Perhaps the market does not know, I am a market person," Purbaya said during a press release at the Ministry of Finance office, Jakarta, on Monday, September 8, 2025.
Purbaya stated that he has been involved in the market since 2000. In addition, he claimed to have a strong team at the Ministry of Finance. He mentioned having experience in fiscal management. The former Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Deposit Insurance Corporation mentioned that he had been part of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's think-tank in 2008. He also assisted the government of President Joko Widodo as a staff member at the Presidential Staff Office in 2015. "I always give fiscal input to the government. Unpaid, behind the scenes," he said.
At the closing of the trade on Monday, September 8, 2025, the IHSG recorded a decrease of 100.49 points or 1.28 percent to the level of 7,766. According to RTI Business data, there were 232 stocks that strengthened, 451 stocks that weakened, and 121 stocks that stagnated. The transaction value reached Rp19.45 trillion with a trading volume of 35.82 billion shares from more than 2.19 million transactions.
