TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that severe flooding in Jembrana Regency, Bali, has left two people dead and displaced hundreds of residents. As of Wednesday afternoon, September 10, 2025, at least 200 people from 103 families in Jembrana were affected.

BNPB spokesperson Abdul Muhari said the flooding followed heavy rainfall that hit parts of Bali on Tuesday night, September 9. Evacuated residents were relocated to dozens of temporary shelters, including village halls.

The disaster was not limited to Jembrana. Flooding was also reported in Gianyar, Tabanan, Klungkung, and Denpasar City. In Klungkung alone, BNPB recorded 104 families, or 432 people, impacted by the disaster.

Data from other regencies are still being collected by local Regional Disaster Management Agencies (BPBD), which are also leading emergency response efforts. As of Wednesday afternoon, several areas remained inundated.

“We continue to monitor the flood response and coordinate with local BPBD,” Abdul said.

BNPB has warned that the risk of further disasters remains high, with weather forecasts predicting moderate to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds in several parts of Bali. Early warnings have been issued for Tabanan, Badung, Gianyar, Klungkung, Bangli, Karangasem, Buleleng, and Denpasar City.

“We urge local governments and communities to stay alert to the potential of hydrometeorological hazards, including flash floods, landslides, and strong winds,” Abdul added.
