TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 2025 Indonesia Open badminton tournament will take place at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta from June 3 to 8. This year's event promises a fresh look compared to previous editions.
Armand Darmadji, Chairperson of the 2025 Indonesia Open Organizing Committee, announced a key change for the BWF Super 1000 tournament: the courts will feature a blue color. "The court carpets will be blue," he stated at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center in East Jakarta on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
Armand explained that this blue carpet will serve as a trademark for the Indonesia Open, similar to the gray carpet of the All England or the red carpet of the World Tour Finals. He added, "The use of the blue carpet is part of our two-year collaboration with Victor, the latest official equipment provider for Super 500 and Super 1000 events."
He further highlighted that the ticket pricing for the matches is another significant difference for the Indonesia Open this year. "We have adjusted the ticket prices to make the 2025 Indonesia Open the most affordable Super 1000 tournament globally. But we want to assure everyone that the quality of the event will continue to improve. What is clear is that the ticket prices are lower than those for the Indonesia Masters tournament," Armand said.
The tickets being sold for Category 1 and Category 2 are for single entry on a specific day. "These tickets can only be purchased by spectators who queue in person on the day of the match and cannot be bought on behalf of someone else. This is our effort to prevent ticket scalping, fulfilling the wishes of badminton enthusiasts who want to buy their tickets directly," he clarified.
