"BI reminds the public who possess these four banknote denominations, issued in 1979, 1980, and 1982, to exchange them at the Bank Indonesia Head Office by April 30, 2025," Ramdan Denny Prakoso, Executive Director of BI’s Communication Department, said in a written statement on Monday, April 28.
2. Bank Indonesia: IMF Needs to Take Firm Stance in Facing Global Economic Challenges
Governor Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo underlines the importance of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in facing global challenges arising from trade policy changes. This statement was made by Perry during the IMF and World Bank Spring Meeting held in Washington DC, United States.
Perry believes that IMF needs to firmly advocate the importance of open international trade policies to stimulate growth. "IMF plays a strategic role in delivering a firm stance, especially in responding to common challenges that could threaten macroeconomic stability and the global financial system," Perry said in a statement from Bank Indonesia, quoted on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
3. Minister: Apple Investments in Indonesia Unstirred by Looming Trade War
The Indonesian Minister of Invenstment and Downstream Industry, Rosan Roeslani, stated that the budding global trade war does not hinder Apple from investing in Indonesia. According to him, this type of investment will increase in line with President Donald Trump's import tariff policies.
Rosan conveyed that the multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California, has already purchased land in Batam City as a commitment to continue its investment.
"The land clearing has also been conducted, so the investment will move forward despite geopolitical and economic tensions," Rosan told the media crew in South Jakarta on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
