TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - This morning, on Friday, January 30, 2026, parts of Greater Jakarta experienced rain. The early weather warning issued by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), valid from 4:00 to 7:00 AM local time, reveals that rain began in the coastal areas of Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bekasi.

The rain then extended southward to almost the entire Greater Jakarta. At the time of writing this article, rain is still falling in some of these areas.

According to the BMKG weather forecast, light rain is expected throughout the day in all areas of Jakarta, both inland and in the Thousand Islands.

The same goes for the surrounding areas, namely Bogor, Bekasi, Tangerang, and Depok. Only South Tangerang is expected to have rain throughout the day with moderate or higher intensity.

Although most areas are only expected to have light rain, Jakarta and its surrounding areas should still anticipate heavy to very heavy rainfall today. BMKG has issued a 'Warning' early rain status for Jakarta today, along with several other areas, including Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, and NTT.

This early rain warning is similar to yesterday's for Jakarta. Meanwhile, tomorrow, the status will be downgraded to 'Alert'.
