TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met with several figures referred to as opposition figures at his private residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Friday evening, January 30, 2026. Prabowo spoke to his guests about government programs.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that President Prabowo discussed programs that have been underway since entering the second year of his administration.

"He explained that the programs he has implemented over the past year and several months are all oriented towards the interests of the people, oriented towards the interests of the nation and state," Prasetyo said at Wisma Danantara, South Jakarta, on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

According to Prasetyo, Prabowo also received input from his guests. "They are also community leaders. The President is open to dialogue," said the politician from the Gerindra Party, which Prabowo leads.

However, Prasetyo refused to identify Prabowo's guests as opposition figures. That term was previously coined by Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, who first revealed the meeting on Friday night at Prabowo's home. "There were no opposition figures," Prasetyo said.

On Friday night, Prabowo's residence in Kertanegara was filled with guests. Prasetyo mentioned two names of figures who came to the house inherited from the parents of the Gerindra Party Chairman.

One of them was political researcher Siti Zuhro from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). "Among them was Professor Siti Zuhro, there was a discussion about election issues," Prasetyo said.

Prasetyo also named another person who also discussed with Prabowo on Friday night. "Then there was Mr. Susno, discussing law enforcement issues," he said.

Prasetyo did not reveal who Susno he was referring to when asked by reporters. Tempo is still trying to confirm with Prasetyo via text message whether the Susno he mentioned is the former Chief of the Indonesian National Police, Susno Duadji. Susno Duadji is one of the figures who frequently comments on current government policies in the mass media.

On the other hand, Prasetyo stated that no figures from political parties came to Prabowo's house last night. "None," said the former member of the House of Representatives.

President Prabowo previously met with figures considered to be opposition to the government on Friday, January 30, 2026. Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin made this statement while speaking at an Indonesian Journalists Association retreat.

According to Sjafrie, the meeting discussed how the country should be managed well by all parties. "Last night, the President and several national figures, who, quote-unquote, are opposition," Sjafrie said in Bogor, West Java, as reported by Antara.

Sjafrie claimed not to know the names of the figures present. "I don't know their names, I've forgotten. What's certain is that the national figures have stated there is no opposition. This is a matter of communication, and that communication has been established," said Sjafrie.

When asked where the meeting took place, Sjafrie declined to elaborate. "Somewhere. I think you (the media) know best," he said.

On Friday evening, January 30, 2026, Prabowo Subianto's residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, was bustling. Prabowo was reportedly receiving guests at his private residence. The area around the Head of State's house was heavily guarded.

Approximately 150 meters from Prabowo's house, there was a guard post with a no-trespassing sign. Several orange road barriers lined the entrance.

Several security officers were seen guarding the area. Several convoys of guest cars entered and exited through this route. For example, around 8:30 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), according to Tempo's observations, a convoy of cars accompanied by patrol motorcycles and an escort was seen entering the guard post.

At least until 10:00 PM WIB, the guests had not left the home of this honorary retired general.
