TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto witnessed the swearing-in of nine Ombudsman commissioners on Friday, April 10, 2026. The members of the supervisory institution will serve for five years for the 2026-2031 period.
The nine commissioners present at the oath-taking ceremony include Hery Susanto and Rahmadi Indra Tektona as the chair and deputy chair, respectively. The other members are Abdul Ghoffar, Fikri Yasin, Maneger Nasution, Nuzran Joher, Partono, Robertus Na Endi Jaweng, and Syafrida Rachmawati Rasahan.
The nine Ombudsman commissioners declared their commitment to carry out their duty fairly and justly. "I will not once accept gifts or promises, whether in a direct or indirect manner. I will uphold the 1945 Constitution and abide by the rules with a full sense of responsibility," the members said during oath-taking ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.
The Ombudsman members were appointed through Presidential Decree Number 20/P of 2026, inked on February 13, 2026, by President Prabowo.
Prabowo also witnessed the swearing in of the Constitutional Court Justice Liliek Prisbawono Adi, who replaced Anwar Usman.
During the occasion, Prabowo inaugurated Andi Rahadian as the Ambassador of Indonesia to the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Yemen. As an ambassador, Andi Rahadian will be stationed in Muscat, Oman.
The Indonesian parliament previously approved the 9 members of the Indonesian Ombudsman for the 2026-2031 period through a plenary session on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. The appointment was based on a fit and proper test held just a day earlier, but House member Muhammad Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, who announced the names, assured the selection process was democratic and careful.
