TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto invited Bill Gates to see the implementation of the free nutritious meal program policy at the Jati 03 State Elementary School (SDN), Pulo Asem, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
Tempo's monitoring at the location, Prabowo was seen entering the SDN area using a Maung tactical vehicle produced by PT Pindad. The Head of State was seen waving and greeting the public during the trip to the elementary school. Meanwhile, Bill Gates used a black vehicle in front of the Maung vehicle.
Prabowo, who was wearing a brown safari shirt, arrived at around 10:30 WIB. Bill Gates, who was wearing a light blue shirt, had arrived first.
The two then walked into the SDN Jati 03 field. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya was seen walking following the two people.
When they entered the elementary school field, hundreds of students from all over the school shouted the word 'Prabowo' simultaneously. The students wearing scout uniforms also waved to the two of them. Prabowo returned the wave.
The former Defense Minister then invited Bill Gates to see the free nutritious meal menu that was still in the ompreng.
After that, Prabowo invited the Microsoft owner to see how students consume nutritious food in one of the classrooms. In the classroom, each student has been prepared with an ompreng for nutritious food. They then opened it and immediately consumed the food.
At the entrance to the classroom, Prabowo was seen explaining the implementation of nutritious food to Bill Gates. However, it was not heard what was being discussed.
After that, Prabowo invited Bill Gates to go around the classroom. During the trip, shouts of 'Prabowo' were still heard from the students. Prabowo then invited Bill Gates to see the implementation of nutritious food in another classroom.
The two then left the elementary school. Prabowo was seen accompanying Bill Gates to get into the car.
Bill Gates had previously arrived at the Merdeka Palace at 08.16 WIB. He was greeted directly by Prabowo on the veranda of the Merdeka Palace. The Presidential Palace said the two met to discuss a number of sustainable development initiatives.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto said that Bill Gates came to provide support for the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. He said that the letter requesting his visit had been received since November.
"One of the goals is to express support and appreciation for the nutritious meal program that we are running," said Prabowo in giving directions at the Plenary Cabinet Session at the Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta, Monday, May 5, 2025.
The former Minister of Defense said that Bill Gates planned to provide assistance for the MBG program. However, Prabowo did not yet know what form the assistance would take.
"However, I emphasize, assistance or not, awards or not, this program is an investment for the nation's children," he said.
