
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Israel's large-scale air strikes targeting nuclear and military facilities in Iran have sparked strong reactions from countries across the Middle East.
The conflict, which has resulted in hundreds of deaths within days, has led many nations in the region to condemn Israel’s actions and call for de-escalation and a return to diplomacy.
United Arab Emirates (UAE)
According to Arab News, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need for "maximum restraint" and warned against actions that could intensify the conflict.
The UAE also urged all parties to resume peaceful dialogue in line with international law and called on the UN Security Council to take decisive steps toward achieving a ceasefire and preserving regional stability.
Qatar
Qatar described Israel's strikes as a clear violation of Iran’s sovereignty and a breach of international law. Expressing deep concern over the escalating situation, the Qatari government demanded an immediate end to the aggression. Doha also appealed to the international community to fulfill its legal and moral duty in stopping further violations.
Oman
Oman, Iran’s southern neighbor, issued a strong condemnation of what it called Israel’s “brutal military aggression.” The Omani government labeled the attack a reckless and dangerous escalation that violates both the UN Charter and principles of international law. Oman warned that such actions pose a serious threat to regional stability.
Jordan
As reported by The Guardian, Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed grave concern that these strikes could destabilize the region. The government warned of the consequences of further escalation and urged all involved parties to show restraint.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry denounced the air strikes as a blatant breach of international law. Riyadh stated that the UN Security Council holds a key responsibility to put an end to the violence. Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also contacted his Iranian counterpart, urging a rejection of force and the promotion of diplomatic solutions.
Bahrain
Although Bahrain has normalized ties with Israel, the Bahraini government warned that the attacks on Iran could have "serious consequences for regional stability." It called for a de-escalation of tensions and an immediate halt to military operations. Bahrain also underlined the importance of continuing dialogue between Iran and the United States on Iran’s nuclear program.
Turkey
Turkey issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli assault, calling it a provocative act that violates international law and heightens regional tension. The Turkish Foreign Ministry accused Israel of avoiding diplomatic solutions and called for an immediate end to the aggressive campaign.
