TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS) reported that three participants of the August 25–31, 2025 demonstrations remain unaccounted for. As of Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 20:00 WIB, the organization said the state has yet to return them.
“There is no good news we can share with the public. The state has not returned the three individuals who are suspected of being forcibly disappeared,” KontraS said in its official statement on Wednesday night.
The missing protesters have been identified as:
Reno Syahputradewo, last seen on August 30, 2025, at the Mobile Brigade (Mako Brimob) headquarters in Kwitang.
Muhammad Farhan Hamid, missing since August 31, 2025, also last located at Mako Brimob Kwitang.
Bima Permana Putra, missing since August 31, 2025, in the Glodok area, West Jakarta.
KontraS urged anyone with information about the three to come forward. Reports can be submitted via hotline at 089635225998 or through an online form at bit.ly/PoskoOrangHilang.
The organization also called on the public to demand accountability from the state regarding the disappearances.
The disappearances follow a series of large-scale demonstrations that took place across Indonesia from August 25 to 31. The protests, led by students, workers, and civil society groups, were aimed at opposing what they called anti-people policies and the government’s repressive measures.
Demonstrations in cities such as Jakarta, Bandung, Medan, Makassar, and Yogyakarta frequently ended in violent clashes with security forces.
