TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Israel has officially joined the Board of Peace established by US President Donald Trump. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signed the document in Washington in the presence of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. As reported by TASS, the signing took place prior to Netanyahu's meeting with US President Donald Trump.
On January 22, 2026, representatives from 19 countries signed the Board of Peace, created as part of the peace resolution for the Gaza Strip, during the World Economic Forum in Davos. Washington later announced that additional countries had also joined the organization.
Indonesia is among the nations that have joined the Board of Peace. Next week, President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace in the United States.
Prabowo personally signed the Board of Peace charter during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The White House plans to host the first summit of the Board of Peace leaders on February 19, 2026. The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Institute of Peace in Washington.
This partnership reportedly aims to promote the second stage of the ceasefire in Gaza and raise funds for the reconstruction of war-affected Palestinian territories.
State Secretary Prasetyo confirmed the invitation but could not yet verify Prabowo's attendance. "We will inform you when there is certainty," he stated at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, February 9, 2026.
