TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's national futsal team is set to deploy a different lineup for the 2026 AFF Futsal Championship in Thailand compared to their recent 2026 AFC Futsal Championship. This change is reflected in the provisional list of 25 players recently called up for training.
The squad announcement was made via the team's official Instagram account, @timnasfutsal, on Monday, February 23. Coach Hector Souto has kept only two pillars from the squad that finished as runners-up in the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship: Dewa Rizki and Yogi Saputra.
The remaining slots are occupied by a mix of seasoned veterans and emerging talents, including Muhammad Albagir, Guntur Sulistyo, and Ardiansyah Runtuboy. This diverse selection highlights the significant depth within the Indonesian National Futsal Team's ranks. These 25 players will undergo a rigorous selection process to determine the final 14-man squad destined for Thailand.
Indonesia enters the tournament as the defending AFF Futsal champions after a 2-0 victory over Vietnam in the 2024 final. That victory secured the second regional trophy for the Garuda, adding to their historic 2010 triumph.
