TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian U-17 national team will play their second friendly match in preparation for the 2025 U-17 World Cup against the Ivory Coast in Dubai on Monday night local time, October 27, 2025. The first friendly match against Paraguay last Saturday ended with a score of 2-1.

The gap between the match against the Ivory Coast and the previous one is only one day. Therefore, Coach Nova Arianto will be cautious when choosing players for the second friendly match to prevent injuries to his team.

For this reason, Nova will rotate his players. "To prevent injuries, players who have not played in the first match will be given a chance to play so that we can assess the readiness of all players before entering the World Cup," said the 45-year-old coach when contacted on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

In the match against Paraguay, which took place behind closed doors at the Al Hamriyah Club Complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the Indonesian U-17 national team took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal by Fadly Alberto Henga. However, in the second half, they conceded two goals by Jose Buhring in the 70th minute and Mauricio De Carvalho in the 90+2 minute.

After the friendly matches against Paraguay and the Ivory Coast, Nova's team will face the Panama U-17 national team in the final friendly match on Thursday, October 30, 2025. The three friendly matches played during the training camp in Dubai were the final preparation before competing in the World Cup, which takes place from November 3-27.

Overall, Nova emphasizes the training camp in Dubai with these three friendly matches to assess the team's readiness. "From there, we assess the final condition of the players, whether they are ready to play in the World Cup," he said.

The Indonesian U-17 national team will play its first match in Group H of the 2025 U-17 World Cup against Zambia on November 4. In the second match, the Garuda Muda squad will face Brazil on November 7. In the last group stage match, Nova's team will play against Honduras on November 10.
