TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto instructed the economic ministers of the Red and White Cabinet to present comprehensively the country's economic conditions during the Indonesia Economic Outlook event scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026.

This came after several foreign firms issued warnings about Indonesia. For instance, Morgan Stanley Capital International or MSCI released a negative report and ultimatum about the governance and integrity of Indonesia's capital market.

Shortly after, Moody's Ratings downgraded Indonesia's debt rating outlook from stable to negative.

"Bapak President [Prabowo] asked us to provide a more detailed explanation in the economic discussion of the 'Indonesia Economic Outlook,' which will be held on Friday," said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto after a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

Airlangga said the Indonesian government will clear up various issues highlighted by Moody's that led to the downgrade of Indonesia's debt rating outlook. One of them relates to state revenue and the establishment of sovereign wealth fund Danantara.

"We must explain regarding the potential hike of state revenue and the plans undertaken by Danantara," said Airlangga.

The explanation will also respond to the assessments from other rating agencies. Fitch Ratings is scheduled to announce its assessment of Indonesia on February 23, 2026, followed by Standard & Poor's (S&P).

"During the discussions, the government's stance related to flagship programs will be laid out," said Airlangga.
