TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has utilized funding from the Just Energy Transition Partnerships (JETP) and Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) programs to develop the green economy, amounting to US$3.5 billion, approximately Rp58.79 trillion (based on Rp16,799 exchange rate).

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said the total allocation for green financing from the JETP program for Indonesia is US$21.4 billion (Rp359.49 trillion). Meanwhile, the AZEC program has allocated US$500 million (Rp8.39 trillion).

"The acceleration of the AZEC and JETP programs is Indonesia's commitment to realize green economy and decarbonization. From these two programs, we have utilized almost US$ 3.5 billion," said Airlangga Hartarto citing Antara, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

In addition to seeking international funding, Airlangga said the government has also prepared the 2026 state budget allocation to strengthen energy resilience, including the development of green economy, amounting to Rp404.2 trillion.

In order to achieve energy resilience, the government is developing and preparing several green projects. The Green Energy Corridor Sulawesi (GECS) and the Green Bond Development Facility (GBDF) are two projects financed by JETP.

The government is striving to utilize the 3,686 gigawatts of renewable energy potential for the development of a 70-kilometer-long green electricity network, or green supergrid. Through Danantara Indonesia, the government is also committed to building Waste-to-Energy Power Plants (PLTSa), which are planned to commence in March 2026.

Airlangga stated that several downstream industrial projects are also being optimized. These projects include electric vehicle batteries and solar panels, the development of B40 to B50 biodiesel, Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), hydrogen, green ammonia, and the application of Carbon Capture and Storage/Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCS/CCUS) technologies.

He said the development of green economy is projected to create up to 4.4 million new jobs by 2029. "The government is committed to realizing energy resilience as a top national priority, in line with strengthening food resilience," said Airlangga.
