TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Director General of Tax at the Finance Ministry, Bimo Wijayanto, reported that Indonesia's tax revenue by the end of July 2025 was Rp990 trillion. This represents a 5.29% decrease compared to the Rp1,045.3 trillion recorded during the same period in 2024.
However, Bimo noted that the overall contribution of tax revenue to state income has increased by 1.67% from January to July 2025 compared to the previous year.
"God willing, this positive performance has continued since March 2025 until today," Bimo stated during a hearing with the House of Representatives' Commission XI in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, as quoted from Antara.
He also mentioned that gross tax revenue, which is the total tax collected before refunds are considered, grew by 2.3 percent from January to July 2025, reaching Rp1,269.4 trillion. This indicates a solid base of tax payments entering the national treasury.
In addition to taxes, the total state revenue by July 2025 was further supported by other streams. These included customs and excise, which contributed Rp171.1 trillion, non-tax state revenue (PNBP) at Rp266.2 trillion, and grants amounting to Rp1.3 trillion. Cumulatively, total state revenue for the period reached Rp1,428.6 trillion.
Looking ahead to 2026, the Finance Ministry has projected a tax revenue target of Rp2,358 trillion, aiming for a tax ratio of 9.33 percent. The target for PNBP is set at Rp455 trillion, reflecting a 4.7 percent decrease from the 2025 outlook.
