TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno stated that the Indonesian government is currently mapping out potential issues in the field and preparing anticipatory measures to face the celebration and the holidays of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 AD. The government will pay attention to the smoothness of transportation and the readiness of basic services directly related to the public.
"We are focusing on potential issues and the anticipatory measures that need to be taken early, including facing the risks of hydrometeorological disasters," said Pratikno while leading the Ministerial-level Meeting Preparation for Eid al-Fitr Holidays 1447 H/2026 M at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture office in Jakarta on Thursday, February 12, 2026, as quoted by the official statement from the Ministry's Public Relations.
According to Pratikno, the estimated number of people expected to travel during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr period is 143,915,053. Therefore, all ministries and agencies must anticipate this surge in mobility.
Several aspects are the main focus, including the readiness of places of worship, health services along the homecoming routes and destination locations, strengthening integrated posts, the availability and suitability of land, sea, and air transportation, as well as inclusive services for the elderly, children, and people with disabilities. The government also ensures the readiness of tourist destinations, which are expected to experience an increase in visits during the Eid al-Fitr holidays.
Furthermore, the government is preparing the free homecoming integration system as in previous years. This integration is expected to make it easier for the public to access information and services.
"We will continue to strengthen the free homecoming integration system to make it more effective and provide optimal benefits for the public," said Pratikno.
During the meeting, each ministry and agency presented their sectoral readiness, including traffic engineering and density control. Disaster-prone areas received special attention, given that some of these areas are still experiencing medium to high rainfall (100–400 mm). Therefore, coordination with the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) is strengthened to anticipate extreme weather during the homecoming period.
Pratikno emphasizes the importance of integrated public communication so that the public can obtain accurate information on travel schedules, traffic management policies, and safety reminders during travel.
With earlier planning and increasingly solid coordination, the government hopes that public mobility during the Eid al-Fitr holiday season of 1447 H will be smooth, comfortable, and safe, and that all travelers will reach their destinations safely.
Also present at the event were Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid, Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Head of BMKG Teuku Faisal Fathani, Head of Basarnas Mohammad Syafii, Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Atip Latipulhayat, Deputy Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Purwadi Arianto, CEO of Jasa Marga Rivan Achmad Purwantono, as well as representatives from other related ministries and agencies.
