TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian indie record label Lamunai Records has officially ended its partnership with the band Harum Manis following widespread allegations of sexual harassment against its vocalist, Sulthon Kamil. The decision was announced on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
“Lamunai Records expresses solidarity and support for the victims in the case of alleged sexual harassment involving Sulthon Kamil from Harum Manis,” the label stated on Instagram. The termination took effect immediately on the same day the allegations began circulating on social media.
End of Collaboration
Lamunai explained that all contractual obligations between the label and Harum Manis had been fulfilled in accordance with existing agreements. “We also assert that the involvement of other parties in the works and copyrights of Harum Manis is beyond the scope of our collaboration,” the statement read.
The label stressed that Harum Manis is no longer part of Lamunai Records. “We are deeply concerned and regret this situation, and we hope the affected victims receive full support and recovery,” they added.
Canceled Appearance at Synchronize Fest 2025
On the same day, Harum Manis was also dropped from the lineup of Synchronize Fest 2025. The band’s name, which appeared in the festival’s initial announcement video, was absent when the full lineup poster was released on social media.
Sulthon Kamil has been accused on social platforms, including X, of sexual grooming and predatory behavior toward underage girls. These allegations prompted the festival’s organizers to take swift action.
David Karto, Festival Director of Synchronize Fest 2025, emphasized that the event has a strict zero-tolerance policy toward performers implicated in sexual violence.
“Last year, Synchronize launched the Safe Space initiative. We are very firm in our commitment: if any performer is suspected of being involved in such cases, we have to remove them,” David said after a press conference at Live House Kemang, South Jakarta, on Wednesday.
David acknowledged that music festivals can sometimes become catalysts for sexual violence, whether intentional or not. “This morning, we learned about the situation that has gone viral. Just before this press conference, we decided to drop them from the lineup,” he explained.
He stressed that Synchronize Fest remains committed to fostering safer and more inclusive spaces for music lovers.
