TEMPO.CO, Jakarta A total of 18 Neighborhood Units (RT) were submerged in floods in Jakarta, Indonesia, until Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 04:00 AM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), after heavy rain poured over Jakarta and its surrounding areas since Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Mohamad Yohan, the Head of Data and Information Center for Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Jakarta, said that the flooding was caused by the high rainfall and the overflow of the Ciliwung River.
