TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 46 neighborhood units (RT) and 13 road sections were submerged by floods in Jakarta as of Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 6 p.m. local time, after heavy rain triggered river overflows and disrupted traffic in parts of the region.
The head of the Data and Information Center for Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Mohamad Yohan, said the floods hit four administrative areas. "Heavy rainfall triggered the overflow of Ciliwung, Pesanggrahan, Angke, and Nagrak rivers," said Yohan in an official statement on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
In West Jakarta, flooding submerged 21 RTs: Duri Kosambi in 2 RTs, Kapuk in 2 RTs, Kedaung Kali Angke in 4 RTs, Rawa Buaya in 5 RTs, South Kedoya in 5 RTs, and South Kembangan in 3 RTs, with water heights ranging from 20 to 90 centimeters.
In South Jakarta, flooding occurred in 4 RTs across Cipulir and East Pejaten with water levels ranging from 30 to 50 centimeters. In North Jakarta, 3 neighborhood units were flooded in Cilincing, Marunda, and Rorotan, with water levels ranging from 20 to 30 centimeters.
Meanwhile, in East Jakarta, 18 RTs were affected, spread across Rawa Terate with 1 RT, Bidara Cina with 4 RTs, Cipinang Muara with 2 RTs, Kampung Melayu with 4 RTs, Cawang with 5 RTs, and Cililitan with 2 RTs, with water heights ranging from 20 to 110 centimeters.
The floods also forced residents to evacuate. In West Jakarta, evacuation sites were established at the Al-Fudhola Mosque, Kedaung Kali Angke Village, accommodating 3 families (14 individuals). In Central Jakarta, evacuations were carried out at the Integrated Child-Friendly Public Space (RPTRA) Segas RW 06, Karet Tengsin Village (1 household, 2 individuals), and the Muhajirin Mosque Hall RW 07, accommodating 12 households (48 individuals).
In addition to residential areas, 13 road sections were affected by the floods:
- Jalan KS Tubun, Petamburan, Central Jakarta - 15 cm
- Jalan Rawa Indah Dua, Pegangsaan Dua, North Jakarta - 15 cm
- Jalan Terusan Kelapa Hybrida Rawa Indah, Sukapura, North Jakarta - 10 cm
- Jalan Inspeksi Kirana, Semper Timur, North Jakarta - 50 cm
- Jalan Daan Mogot KM 12(Across Victoria/Glass Factory), East Cengkareng, West Jakarta - 15 cm
- Jalan Srengseng Raya, Srengseng, West Jakarta - 40 cm
- Jalan Puri Kembangan (In Front of Budi Murni Vocational School), Kedoya Selatan, West Jakarta - 15 cm
- BTN RT 06 & 07 RW 03 Complex Road, Meruya Utara, West Jakarta - 20 cm
- Daan Mogot Taman Kota Bus Stop, Kedaung Kali Angke, West Jakarta - 15 cm
- Jalan Cileduk Raya, Cipulir, South Jakarta - 15 cm
- Jalan Pulo Raya IV, Petogogan, South Jakarta - 45 cm
- Langgar Alley, Rawajati, South Jakarta - 30 cm
- Jalan Raya Cipinang Indah (SMK Penabur Landmark), Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta - 10 cm
The BPBD also noted several road sections that were previously flooded but have now receded, including Jalan Daud Raya (North Sukabumi), Jalan Meruya Selatan, Jalan Strategi Raya (Joglo), and Jalan Raden Inten II (Duren Sawit), among 14 other road sections.
