TEMPO.CO, Jakarta A total of 350 people were displaced due to flooding that hit North Jakarta as of Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), after heavy rains inundated Jakarta and its surrounding areas since Friday, January 30, 2026. The flooding was triggered by heavy rainfall that caused several rivers to overflow.

The Head of the Disaster Data and Information Center for the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Mohamad Yohan, noted that the evacuation center was located in Marunda Village, North Jakarta, with people taking shelter in two locations.

"Nurul Jannah Mosque, which houses 50 families (KK) or 125 people, and Robiatul Adawiyah Elementary School, which houses 62 families (225 people)," he said in an official statement on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

The increase in water levels has been observed since early Friday morning. The Angke Hulu Post was on Alert or Alert Level 3 status at 4:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB). The rising water level at the post has also triggered flooding in several areas.

Currently, flooding has inundated nine neighborhood units (RT) and one road in two administrative areas. In North Jakarta, flooding occurred in seven RTs (6 RTs) spread across the Marunda Village and one RT in Kapuk Muara, with water levels reaching approximately 10 centimeters. The flooding was triggered by heavy rainfall and overflowing Angke and Nagrak rivers.

Meanwhile, in West Jakarta, flooding inundated two RTs in the Tegal Alur Village, with water levels reaching approximately 20 centimeters. The inundation in this area was caused by heavy rainfall and the overflowing Semongol River.

In addition to residential areas, flooding also inundated one road, Jalan Kamal Raya in the Tegal Alur Village, West Jakarta, with water levels reaching approximately 15 centimeters.

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) deployed personnel to monitor flood conditions and coordinate with the Water Resources (SDA) Agency, the Public Works Agency, and the Fire and Rescue Agency to pump out water and ensure the drainage channels are functioning.
