TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of X [archive] and Facebook accounts (account 1, account 2) posted a series of photos in early February 2026, claiming to be part of the Epstein Files and related to cannibalism. These images show individuals at a dinner table consuming dishes that resemble human bodies.

One account narrated that Epstein's circle practiced secret cannibalism in addition to child sexual abuse. Another post linked this narrative to the film What You Wish For, accusing it of depicting the Epstein group's consumption of infant flesh and organs.

"Not only child sexual abuse, but there are still many unrevealed issues, such as cannibalism," wrote one account.

So, is it true that the Epstein Files revealed photos of people eating human flesh?

FACT CHECK

Tempo verified the content using reverse image searches and compared it with credible media reports. The results show that the photos claiming to depict cannibalism are actually scenes from horror films, not part of the Epstein Files.

The Epstein Files are a collection of official documents resulting from investigations by United States law enforcement agencies, including the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). These documents summarize the criminal activities of Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire convicted of child sex crimes and human trafficking who died in a New York prison on August 10, 2019.

More than 3.5 million pages of documents were released on December 19, 2025, and made available to the public. These records include flight logs, phone books, digital forensic results from hundreds of thousands of photos and videos, FBI records, and grand jury transcripts. A number of world figures are featured in the files, including Donald Trump, Prince Andrew, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Elon Musk.

USA Today reports that these photos are actually scenes from the 2007 film Thanksgiving. Directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez are known for producing films featuring extreme violence, graphic imagery, and dark humor.

The images circulating on social media match stills found on The Quentin Tarantino Archives website, which contains scenes from the film Thanksgiving. Furthermore, the YouTube channel Rodrigo Dos Santos uploaded behind-the-scenes footage of the making of this mass murder-themed film.

Set in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Thanksgiving tells the story of a serial killer dressed as a Pilgrim who carries out a terror attack during the holiday. Rather than documenting real-life cannibalism, the film is a horror fiction with a tagline emphasizing that turkeys are not the only ones being "skewered" by the butcher.

Americans celebrate Thanksgiving every fourth Thursday in November as a way of giving thanks for the year's blessings. This tradition, originating from a 1621 harvest feast, involved both English settlers and Native Americans. Today, people celebrate by gathering with family, eating turkey, and holding parades.

The second set of photos consists of stills from the 2023 film What You Wish For. Footage from this film, directed by Nicholas Tomnay, has been widely uploaded to YouTube and other online platforms, including the Magnolia Pictures & Magnet Releasing YouTube channel and the IMDb website.

What You Wish For does not address the Jeffrey Epstein sex crimes case. It tells the story of Ryan (Nick Stahl), a talented chef plagued by misfortune and a gambling problem, who flees town and seeks refuge in a Latin American country.

In his new surroundings, he meets Jack (Brian Groh), a wealthy chef cooking for the elite. Ryan eventually assumes Jack's identity and discovers the grim reality behind his friend's lavish lifestyle.

CONCLUSION

Tempo's verification concludes that claims regarding the Epstein files revealing photos of cannibalism are false.
