TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has detected several factors that could support the growth of convective clouds and increase the potential for rain in West Java over the next week, specifically from October 27 to November 2, 2025. Weather forecaster Rossian Nursiddiq, from the West Java BMKG Climatology Station, stated that rain will fall regularly due to relatively warm sea surface temperatures, coupled with active Equatorial Rossby and Kelvin waves.
"Atmospheric lability is in the mild to strong instability category, indicating the potential for convective cloud formation on a local scale," he said in a written statement on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
On Monday, October 27, 2025, moderate to very heavy rain has the potential to inundate Bogor Regency and City, Depok City, Bekasi Regency and City, Sukabumi Regency and City, Cianjur, Karawang, Purwakarta, Subang, Cimahi City, West Bandung Regency, and Bandung Regency and City. Rain, which could be accompanied by lightning and strong winds, is also predicted to fall in Sumedang, Cirebon Regency, Indramayu, Majalengka, Kuningan, Garut, Tasikmalaya Regency, Ciamis, and Pangandaran.
For the next two days, October 28-29, similar weather will persist in Bogor Regency and City, Depok City, Bekasi Regency and City, Sukabumi, Cianjur, Karawang, Purwakarta, Subang, Cimahi City, West Bandung Regency, and Bandung Regency and City. Rain is also likely in Sumedang, Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, Kuningan, Garut, Ciamis, and Pangandaran.
Similar weather will persist across most of West Java until Thursday, October 30. Moderate to very heavy rain, which could be accompanied by lightning and strong winds, is also likely on Friday, October 31 in Bogor Regency and City, Sukabumi Regency and City, Cianjur, Purwakarta, Cimahi City, and West Bandung and Bandung Regency. The weather in Sumedang, Majalengka, Kuningan, Garut, Tasikmalaya Regency and City, Ciamis, Banjar City, and Pangandaran also remains wet.
Meanwhile, for the weekend, Saturday, November 1, 2025, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has detected potential rain in Bogor Regency, Bekasi Regency, Sukabumi Regency, Cianjur, West Bandung Regency, and Bandung Regency. Similar predictions are also made for Cimahi City, Majalengka, Garut, Tasikmalaya Regency, and Ciamis. So far, rain is predicted for Sunday, November 2, only for Sukabumi, Cianjur, Garut, and Tasikmalaya Regencies.
