TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecasted a high likelihood of rain in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Greater Jakarta) areas on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Early warnings have been issued for North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, Bogor Regency, Tangerang, and Bekasi Regency to be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning, thunder, and strong winds.
Light to moderate rain is expected to fall again in the afternoon to evening in most areas, including North Jakarta, East Jakarta, West Jakarta, Bekasi Regency and City, Depok City, Bogor Regency and City, as well as Tangerang City and South Tangerang.
According to the BMKG forecast, thick clouds and variable-intensity rain will generally dominate the sky conditions. The public is advised to be cautious of the potential for adverse weather that may disrupt daily activities, especially during busy hours.
The air temperature in the Bogor City and Regency areas is predicted to range from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, other areas are expected to be between 22 and 29 degrees Celsius with air humidity ranging from 70 to 94 percent.
In addition to rainfall, the BMKG has recorded surface wind movement from the northwest at speeds ranging from 10 to 40 kilometers per hour.
