TEMPO.CO, Jakarta PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) Tbk will conduct a share buyback of its shares that have been issued and listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The issuer, codenamed BBCA, will purchase up to Rp5 trillion, including brokerage fees and other costs.

In a statement, this corporate action was undertaken to support the stability of the Indonesian capital market, increase investor confidence, and provide optimal returns for shareholders.

Hera F. Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility at BCA, stated that the share buyback period will be 12 months from the date of approval at the annual general meeting of shareholders (AGM), scheduled for March 12, 2026. "This share buyback will not have a material impact on the company's financial performance and business activities," Hera said, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 29, 2026.

The company may terminate the share buyback earlier, subject to compliance with applicable laws and regulations. BCA stated that the number of shares repurchased by the company will not exceed 10 percent of its paid-up capital.

The buyback will also not result in a decrease in capital below the minimum limit, as stipulated in Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) No. 11/POJK.03/2016 concerning the Minimum Capital Requirement for Commercial Banks, most recently amended by POJK No. 27 of 2022 concerning the Minimum Capital Requirement for Commercial Banks.

Furthermore, Hera emphasized that in carrying out its operational activities, BCA consistently adheres to the principles of good corporate governance (GCG) and complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

As of the end of December 2025, BCA and its subsidiaries posted a net profit of Rp57.5 trillion, representing a 4.9 percent year-on-year growth compared to the previous year. In terms of intermediation, BCA's total credit grew 7.7 percent year-on-year to Rp993 trillion. On average, BCA's credit growth reached 10.8 percent throughout 2025.
