TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian airline AirAsia advises all passengers traveling to Thailand to fill out the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) three days before their arrival. The regulation, which takes effect from May 1, 2025, refers to the official announcement from the Thailand Immigration Bureau.
The regulation applies to all foreign passport holders, including tourists, business travelers, and long-term residents. "With the implementation of TDAC starting May 1, 2025, we advise all AirAsia passengers traveling to Thailand to immediately adjust to this policy for the smooth process of their journey," said Head of Indonesia Affairs & Policy Indonesia AirAsia Eddy Krismeidi in a written statement on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
TDAC is a new system designed to replace paper-based arrival cards. The system aims to expedite the immigration process, reduce the use of physical documents, and enhance efficiency and security at the border.
The digital card can be filled out online and is free of charge. Exceptions are only granted to passengers who are transiting or transferring flights in Thailand without passing through immigration checks, as well as those entering the country using a Border Pass.
"Indonesia AirAsia urges all passengers planning to travel to Thailand to prepare the required documents and ensure the TDAC is filled out before departure," said Eddy.
How to Fill Out TDAC
As reported on the Nation Thailand website, all foreign travelers entering the Kingdom by land, sea, or air must register online at http://tdac.immigration.go.th.
Anukool Pruksanusak, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the information required to fill out the online form on the website includes travel documents, passport details, personal data, travel plans, accommodation in Thailand, and health status as determined by the Ministry of Public Health.
Here are the steps to register for TDAC:
- Visit tdac.immigration.go.th
- Fill out personal and travel details.
- Submit the form and receive a confirmation email.
- Present the confirmation and travel documents to immigration officers upon arriving in Thailand.
The TDAC website supports five languages: English, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Japanese. It also includes information brochures and video tutorials. The Thai government also plans to develop this registration system through an application.
