TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Agincourt Resources said it respects the Indonesian government's plan to transfer control of Martabe gold mine in North Sumatra to the newly formed National Mineral Company (Perminas). The company emphasized readiness to comply with all administrative procedures and relevant laws.

The Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at PT Agincourt Resources, Katarina Siburian Hardono, said the company now focuses on maintaining corporate governance "to run smoothly, as well as responsible and sustainable mining practices," in a statement on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Katarina added that legal compliance remains the company's main principle. This measure is taken to maintain business certainty and operational sustainability according to the rights and obligations outlined by the law.

The CIO of the sovereign wealth fund Danantara, Dony Oskaria, earlier conveyed about planned state control of Martabe gold mine on Wednesday. "We have established a new National Mineral Company," said Dony, referring to Perminas.

Perminas, Dony said, differs from the mining company holding MIND ID, but the state-owned company operates directly under Danantara. This measure is taken to ensure that all strategic businesses are under one management umbrella. "The government's businesses are all under Danantara," he said.

Nevertheless, Dony mentioned that Danantara has yet to conduct technical communication regarding the management transfer. "It might be communicated later," he said.

The Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) previously revealed plans to reclaim the management of land from 28 companies whose permits were revoked for violating forest area utilization regulations.

The spokesperson for Satgas PKH, Barita Simanjuntak, stated that the management of the land will be coordinated by the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Sector and Danantara.

The meeting was attended by the State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) Muhammad Yusuf Ateh. And the Ministry of Forestry, Ministry of Investment and Downstream Sector, as well as all elements from the 12 ministries/agencies within Satgas PKH.
