TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf announced the end of the Aceh disaster emergency response phase. The status will transition to a 90-day disaster recovery period.
This decision was made to expedite the rehabilitation and reconstruction process in the affected areas. The announcement was made during a virtual coordination meeting held on Thursday night, January 29, 2026.
The meeting was attended by Aceh Secretary M. Nasir, Director General of Regional Autonomy at the Ministry of Home Affairs Dr. Safrizal ZA, Iskandar Muda Military Area Commander (Pangdam), Aceh Regional Police Chief, and other regional military and police officials.
"We have declared the transition status for the 90-day hydro-meteorological disaster recovery in Aceh, effective from January 29 to April 29, 2026," said Muzakir Manaf in his statement.
In his address, Governor Muzakir Manaf instructed all Aceh Regional Agencies (SKPA) and relevant stakeholders to promptly implement several crucial points during this transition period. The main priorities are continued cross-sector coordination efforts, ensuring the provision of necessities, and protecting vulnerable groups and refugees in affected areas.
This step will be accompanied by optimizing funding from the Regional Budget to ensure that the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Plan (R3P) can be completed as targeted in early February.
"Furthermore, the R3P document is scheduled to be finalized on February 2 and submitted to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) on February 3, 2026," Muzakir explained.
In response to these instructions, Aceh Secretary M. Nasir expressed readiness to oversee the technical implementation in the field. The primary focus in the near future is the expedited clearing of disaster debris in the highland areas.
M. Nasir emphasized that the announcement of the transition status marks the beginning of Aceh's rise, as well as the restoration of its infrastructure, social welfare, and economic well-being following the hydro-meteorological disaster.
