TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A myriad of features on the iPhone with iOS 26 can be used for various Eid al-Fitr activities, set for tomorrow, March 21, 2026. This technology from Apple can be used for moments during Eid, which are synonymous with gatherings, homecoming travel, and family reunions. What are these interesting features?
iPhone Features for Eve of Eid
1. Center Stage on Camera
The front camera on the iPhone 17 is great for taking group photos of large families. The 18 MP selfie camera uses a square sensor and artificial intelligence (AI) support to automatically expand the field of view. The system will detect facial positions and adjust the framing when taking group photos, eliminating the need to rotate the phone. Users can also adjust auto-zoom and auto-rotate, both automatically and manually.
2. Notes and Reminders
Preparations for Eid are usually quite complex, from storing cooking recipes, shopping lists, travel plans, to outfit ideas. Through the Notes application, users can gather all notes in one place. This feature allows you to customize the text by changing the font size, color, and highlighting, as well as by adding images.
There is also a Reminder to help ensure that all plans proceed according to schedule. Shopping lists, packing, and social gatherings can be organized with notifications. Users can also add reminders directly from the widget on the main screen, making it quicker and more convenient for noting important things.
3. Apple Invites
The Apple Invites feature introduced in iOS 26 makes it easy to plan events such as Eid open houses. Users can manage invitations, event locations, attendance confirmations, shared photo albums, and collaborative playlists all within one platform. Everything is centralized without the need to switch between applications.
This feature also helps ensure that addresses are validated, guest lists are always updated, and event documentation is neatly organized after the event. Interestingly, guests can still view and respond to invitations via the website even if they do not have an Apple Account or iCloud+ subscription.
4. Shared Album
The Shared Albums feature in iCloud simplifies the task of sharing moments. Rather than sending photos one by one via chat, family members can upload photos and videos directly to the same album.
This feature can also be accessed by users who do not use an iPhone. All the album owner needs to do is activate the Public Website option. After that, the system will generate a link that can be directly shared. As a result, anyone can view the contents of the album without the need for an Apple device or iCloud account.
5. Offline Maps
During homecoming travel, the offline map feature in Apple Maps is highly relevant in assisting users. Before departing, users can download maps directly from the profile menu. Tempo tested the downloaded area and found that it was flexible and could be adjusted according to needs, ranging from specific regions to wider areas. The storage size will depend on the selected area coverage. The larger the area, the larger the document size that needs to be downloaded.
Once the map is stored, users can still search for routes and navigate to various destinations as long as they are within the downloaded area, even without an internet connection.
The Preferred Routes feature also helps provide alternative routes in the event of traffic jams, making travel more efficient. If the vehicle already supports Apple CarPlay, the navigation display and notifications will appear directly on the dashboard screen, helping drivers stay focused on the road.
