TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Eight teams have secured spots in the quarterfinals of the 2025/2026 Champions League, bringing with them duels of European giants, including Bayern Munich against Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain against Liverpool.
Bayern Munich progressed convincingly after eliminating the Italian representatives, Atalanta, with an outstanding aggregate score of 10-2 in the round of 16. The German club demonstrated complete dominance, winning 6-1 away and 4-1 at home.
Real Madrid also displayed an impressive performance to reach the last eight. The Spanish club eliminated the English Premier League champions, Manchester City, by winning two games, 3-0 and 2-1, respectively.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the defending champions, advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating the English representatives with a commanding aggregate of 8-2, achieved through 5-2 and 3-0 victories in the two legs.
Liverpool followed suit after overcoming Galatasaray with a 4-1 aggregate score. Despite a 0-1 loss in the first leg in Turkey, the Reds bounced back with a resounding 4-0 victory at Anfield in the second leg.
In addition to Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid and PSG vs Liverpool, the quarterfinals will feature a Spanish derby between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, as well as a matchup between Sporting CP and Arsenal. The first leg of the quarterfinals is scheduled for April 7 and 8, 2026, local time, while the second leg will be held a week later.
