Prabowo to Host Cambodian Senate President This Afternoon

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto will receive an honorary visit from the President of the Cambodian Senate, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, May 5, 2025. The meeting is scheduled for around 11:00 AM Western Indonesian Time.

Deputy of Protocol, Press, and Media in the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, stated that Prabowo and the President of the Senate, Hun Sen, will meet with delegations from both countries. "They will hold a delegation meeting," he said in an official statement on Monday, May 6, 2025.

According to Yusuf, this meeting is a crucial moment to strengthen and enhance bilateral relations between Indonesia and Cambodia and to strengthen cooperation in various strategic areas.

Previously, Prabowo received a visit from the Special Envoy of the Japanese Prime Minister, and former Japanese Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, along with a delegation at his residence on Kertanegara Street, Jakarta, on Sunday evening.

Kishida delivered a letter from Prime Minister Japan, Shigeru Ishiba, to President Prabowo. Based on the Presidential Press Bureau's statement, Kishida and his entourage arrived at Prabowo's residence on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 7:00 PM.

"Of course, former PM Kishida delivered a letter from Prime Minister Ishiba directly to Mr. President, and of course, one of the contents was related to his special envoy position for the AZEC (Asia Zero Emission Community) projects," said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Affairs Airlangga Hartarto in his statement after the meeting.

In addition to conveying the official message from the Japanese Government, both parties also discussed the progress of cooperation projects within the framework of AZEC. According to Airlangga, Indonesia currently has more than 170 MoUs with Japan.
