TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo summoned the ranks of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta this morning, Monday, February 9, 2026.
The TNI-Polri Leadership Meeting (Rapim) is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB). Based on Tempo's observations, guests began arriving before 9:00 a.m. WIB.
One of those present at the Presidential Palace was Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak. He arrived around 9:13 a.m. WIB.
Maruli stated that such meetings are routine. "This is just a routine event, an evaluation, and future steps. And we usually receive direction from the President," he said.
According to Maruli, Prabowo's directives will be followed up in leadership meetings within each branch of the TNI. "The derivatives of the President's instructions, what we are doing," he said.
In addition to Maruli, Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Mohamad Tonny Harjono, Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, National Disaster Management Agency Chief Lieutenant General Suharyanto, and Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) Chief Vice Admiral Irvansyah were also seen attending the meeting.
Furthermore, Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian arrived at the Presidential Palace around 9:16 a.m. WIB. Tito admitted he didn't know what instructions Prabowo would give to the TNI and Polri.
"Perhaps an evaluation. Yesterday in Sentul there was a coordination meeting for all regional heads. At the beginning of the year, he usually delivers these messages to regional heads, so this might be the beginning of the year for the TNI and Polri as well," Tito said.
