TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - "Minions 3" has dropped its very first trailer during the Super Bowl, revealing an upcoming adventure titled Minions & Monsters. Set in the world of 1920s Hollywood, the bright yellow aliens’ adventure will center around their unknown talent behind the camera.
As expected, "Minions 3" will stay true to the outrageous mischief the franchise is known for. This time, the Minions set out to make their own monster movie, embarking on a quest to find frightening creatures to star in the film.
Along the way, they are joined by a cute green creature that celebrates its newfound freedom after Kevin and the gang conjure spells from a mystical book, Cinema Express reported. While Gru’s absence remains noticeable and irreplaceable, the film retains a similar adventurous spirit, sending the Minions on globe-trotting escapades to encounter sea beasts, a giant bunny, and a mummy.
"Minions 3" marks the seventh overall installment in the Despicable Me franchise. Academy Award–nominated director Pierre Coffin returns to helm Minions & Monsters, continuing his long-running involvement with the series after directing the first three Despicable Me films and the first "Minions" film, according to Yahoo! Entertainment. Coffin has also voiced the mischievous yellow characters since their big-screen debut in 2010.
The franchise’s track record as both a critical and commercial success remains strong. Its most recent release, Despicable Me 4 (2024), earned over $972 million worldwide, according to Cinema Express.
“Minions 3,” also known as Minions & Monsters, is scheduled to hit cinemas on July 1, 2026.
