TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Japanese rock legend HYDE had just rocked fans in Indonesia with a rare and highly anticipated concert titled HYDE [INSIDE] LIVE WORLD TOUR 2025 – JAKARTA. The show was held on Saturday, 1 November 2025, at the Tennis Indoor Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, Indonesia.
This concert marked HYDE’s first solo performance in Jakarta, and his only stop in Southeast Asia during the tour. Although he performed in Jakarta with his band L’Arc-en-Ciel back in 2012, this solo visit was unique and historic for his local fanbase, according to Antara.
During a press conference at F(X) Jakarta the day before the show, HYDE gave fans a surprising reason for choosing Indonesia. “There’s the most delicious food in the world in Indonesia, so I came for that,” he said through a translator. “Rendang!” he added.
When asked what he thought of the West Sumatran specialty, HYDE laughed, “It hurts (my stomach). It’s too spicy.” The audience chuckled. Despite that, he admitted, “I ate a lot last night. So I’m still full now. I ate a lot of rendang.”
Following the press conference, HYDE and his entourage visited Central Jakarta, where he took a ride on the TransJakarta Open Top Tour bus and stopped for a selfie at the iconic Bundaran HI roundabout, as reported by Detik.com.
Beyond his days with L’Arc-en-Ciel, HYDE has also achieved international recognition through his work with VAMPS and the super-group THE LAST ROCKSTARS (USA & Japan). At 56 years old, the artist continues to push musical boundaries with his solo career, including the release of the album HYDE [INSIDE] and collaborations on major anime and video game projects such as Demon Slayer, Devil May Cry 5, and Black Butler.
