TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) began construction on supporting areas for legislative and judicial offices in IKN in October 2025. "There are three things that I emphasize to be considered, namely quality, aesthetics, and environmental sustainability. I live here, I can supervise at any time," said the Head of OIKN, Basuki Hadimuljono, in a written statement on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Construction work began after the Nusantara Capital City Authority signed a contract on Friday, October 31, 2025. The infrastructure development consists of three projects: the construction of roads in the judiciary area; the construction of roads in support of the Core Government Central Business District (KIPP) 1A; and one main construction management package.
OIKN will construct a 6,418-kilometer road in the judiciary area with a contract value of Rp1.9 trillion. The construction will be carried out from October 2025 to December 2027.
The second development is the construction of a 5,399-kilometer road in support of KIPP 1A at Rp1.1 trillion. Construction of the area will take place from October 2025 to November 2027.
OIKN also signed an Rp8.5 billion management support contract. The contract includes planning, harmonizing the construction design, integrated implementation, and managing performance indicators to ensure the project runs effectively, efficiently, and in an integrated and sustainable manner.
These three projects are part of the 13 construction works in the second phase of IKN, which are under a multi-year contract for 2025-2027. The second phase of IKN development includes the construction of offices for legislative and judiciary institutions, as well as supporting ecosystems such as water resource infrastructure and drinking water pipeline networks.
Basuki stated that there are 12 construction management work packages in the tender phase. His goal is to have all work commence by the end of November 2025.
