TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) has officially announced the ticket prices for the Indonesia Open 2025 badminton tournament. The BWF World Tour Super 1000 level championship will take place at Istora, Senayan, Jakarta, from 3rd to 8th June 2025.
The ticket prices vary, starting from Rp 50,000 to Rp 1 million. The Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Indonesia Open 2025, Armand Darmadji, stated that this year's ticket prices are the most affordable compared to other world-class badminton tournaments, such as the All England, China Open, and Malaysia Open.
Some ticket prices are even cheaper than the Indonesia Masters tournament, which is classified as Super 500. "We have adjusted the ticket prices, offering the cheapest ones among all Super 1000 events worldwide," said Armand during a press conference at the PBSI National Training Center in Cipayung, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Armand continued, "We want to keep the interest in badminton alive. Hopefully, with lower ticket prices, badminton will remain a priority sport and a source of pride for Indonesia."
Armand also introduced the one-time entry ticket system for categories 1 and 2, which can only be purchased directly at the venue on the day of the event. "These tickets can only be bought by spectators queuing on the day of the match and cannot be represented. This is our effort to prevent scalping practices, in line with the wishes of Badminton Lovers who want to buy tickets directly," he said.
With the one-time entry, spectators are allowed to be inside the stadium or the outer concourse area, but once they leave the Istora area, they cannot re-enter. "There is a daily quota, we have limitations. We have certainly set aside allocations. We cannot disclose the details here, but there are quite a lot," said Ahmad.
The PBSI offers affordable ticket prices with the one-time entry system for the Indonesia Open 2025 as an effort to prevent scalping, which has often been complained about by spectators. "Each person can only buy one ticket, it cannot be represented, and they cannot buy for others. This is to ensure that those who come are genuinely interested in watching and to prevent scalping," said Armand.
The PBSI offers three ticket categories: VIP, Category 1, and Category 2, with prices ranging from Rp 50,000 to Rp 1,000,000.
The cheapest tickets are available for category 2 with the one-time entry system, which is applicable for spectators entering before 12:00 PM WIB.
Ticket sales start on Thursday, 8th May 2025, at 3:00 PM WIB through the website www.pbsi.id. The PBSI is also considering the opening time for on-the-spot ticket sales, but it is expected to open from 7:00 AM WIB.
The Indonesia Open 2025 will compete for a total prize of 1.45 million US dollars, or around Rp 23.9 billion.
